The number of players in each year’s WSOP $ 10,000 buy-in Main Event varies. In 2010, there were 7,319 players to start. (Some recent years have had more players.) 747 players cashed, with the lowest payout being $ 19,263. At the start of Day 8 of the tournament, 27 players were left. They played until only 9 were left.
The final table will play on November 6 and the final 2 on November 8. The person to get knocked out first at the final table will make $ 811,823. The winner will make $ 8,944,138.

Actually it’s http://www.worldpokertour.com which will give you some info. The WPT is a collection of tournaments and each one has to be registered for separately. So it’s not a seat on the tour, it’s a seat at tournaments on the tour. Anyone can enter provided you’re over 21 and have the buy in which is 10K and up and varies by tournament. By playing in the events you’ll get a WPT ranking.

Obviously, if you are a world series of poker fan, and you want to watch the FINALE on TV, you’re not going to try and find out the winner online. Yet for us Poker fans that cannot watch it, it is a treat to be able to read about it on Yahoo. Now if it really does say who won before it even aired then that is retarded and i fully agree with you but still they report the news when it happens so they are doing there jobs.

I’ve seen him mutter to himself and shake his head a lot but that’s about it. Also saw him get annoyed at Hellmuth once for going on too long about how bad everyone else was and how they’d screwed him. Doyle finally told him, basically, to sit down and shut up.
