and are you over it yet?
Yesterday, I moved all in preflop with AK spades, i was shortstacked, and got called by KQ. I flopped an ace and a flush draw, the board was A-J-Blank, the turn was another blank and i was a 93% favorite. The guy rivered a ten to knock me out. I’m still irritated lol.

The worst bad beat, and this happens a lot actually is when you have a flush draw. Flop the flush and then someone else wins because another of that same suit turned or rivered and someone now has a higher hand than you because they had the Jack of diamonds and got lucky! but poker is luck and if you play a lot you will be full of bad beat stories. I seen jacks full of aces get beat by Kings aces at the casino a lil while ago-bad beat!

I’m not sure what bad beat tables are but i know that a rake is a portion of the pot that the dealer takes out after every pot.

Every pot in casinos and in on-line poker rooms has a “rake” from that casino or room.
In other words, let’s say people have put $ 12 into the pot by the end of betting. The dealer would take out a dollar and only pay the winner $ 11. If $ 50 went into the pot, they might take out $ 4.
Every casino and every on-line poker room has very clear rules for how much they take out of each pot. If you look carefully, you should actually see how much is being taken out of the pot. There should be a small figure of money next to the dealer that shows how much the on-line poker room is getting for that specific hand.

Nobody will go three months without taking a bad beat and anybody playing regularly will be hard pressed to go a couple of days. But that’s part of poker. In the long run, the odds will run in your favor if you’re ahead at the river with 80/20 odds.
A bad beat to me is not so much about odds. Rather, to me, a bad beat is when you have someone dominated and they make a very bad bet. Something like having KK with a flop of KJ4 and the opponent has QJ and I get the guy all in. He had no business getting involved with a middle pair and a runner runner draw in the first place. If he had KJ, I couldn’t fault him for getting involved. I’d still be ticked that I lost the pot, but at least he played with cards. It’s when genuinely poor poker play gets rewarded that I feel I took a bad beat.

How to qualify for the Bad Beat Jackpot:
* The losing hand must contain Four-of-a Kind, Eights or better.
* Four or more Players must be dealt into the hand.
* The hand must be a raked hand and the Jackpot contribution is collected from the hand.
* The best hand of the winner and the loser must include both the hole cards, and the hand must go to a showdown.
The Jackpot contribution is only collected once during a hand.
The value of the Jackpot contribution is $ 0.50, which will be taken from the pot as soon as the hand is raked.
Jackpot contributions are accumulated until the Jackpot is won.

Wind River Casino outside of Norman….Brand new and supposed to be awesome….if you’re willing to drive an hour or so east to Tulsa, Cherokee Casino and Resort, I-44, Exit 193rd E ave…has a LARGE poker room……also have Blackjack and 3 card poker as well….
